Virtual Resort Manager Upgrade Coming Soon
Progress on our Virtual Resort Manager system upgrade continues on schedule, with the beta release scheduled for some time in the next two weeks. When this work is completed, our vacation rental software application will be running on Microsoft .net (dot-net) version 4.0, replacing the .net version 1.1, which is the original configuration going back to 2002. In conjunction with this upgrade, we will also be installing new primary servers at our network operations center in Raleigh/Durham, which will result in faster speeds, better reliability, and greater redundancy. We’re excited about this upgrade, and anticipate faster development times, a more user-friendly interface, and many other benefits.
After that, look for coming upgrades to our channel partner structure. Distribution is at the top of everyone’s thinking these days. The Vacation Rental Managers Association (VRMA) is in the process of developing a “switch” for the industry, which will provide smooth and inexpensive access to the Global Distribution System (GDS) and other distribution channels. Here at VRM, we will continue to develop our partnerships with the myriad of portals presently available to our clients, and with new distribution methods as they appear.
In addition, we will be expanding our Customer Resource Management (CRM) capability, as well as placing additional emphasis on our marketing capabilities, both in the classic channels, such as email and snail mail, and in search engine marketing.
Look for great things in 2011, as Virtual Resort Manager continues to be a true leader in the vacation rental management software arena.
